
Makenzi Muthusi
Makenzi Muthusi is a Partner in Deal Advisory and Strategy at KPMG East Africa, where he leads the firm’s Sustainable Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, and broader transaction advisory portfolio. He has over 20 years of experience across East Africa, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore, advising on transactions valued at more than USD 1 billion.
Makenzi brings extensive experience supporting businesses, investors, and institutions across sectors including financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, infrastructure, healthcare, and private equity. His work spans capital structuring, financial due diligence, valuations, blended finance mandates, M&A transaction support, and strategic advisory for private equity funds, corporates, development partners, sovereign wealth funds, and governments.
His recent work includes leading transaction advisory for regional banking deals, blended finance programs in the health sector, and large-scale sector feasibility assignments across East Africa, contributing to the development of investment-ready opportunities and growth across key sectors.
Prior to joining KPMG, Makenzi held senior leadership roles at EY, PwC, and Deloitte, where he advised on complex cross-border transactions and supported multinational clients on restructuring, financing, and investment strategy.
Makenzi also serves as a Board Member at Endeavor Kenya and the British Chamber of Commerce in Kenya, contributing to the advancement of high-growth entrepreneurship and the regional investment ecosystem.
He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi, and is a Certified Public Accountant and member of ICPAK.
