
Lilian Mramba
Lilian Mramba is an investment leader with nearly two decades of experience mobilizing capital and supporting the growth of small and growing businesses across Africa. She is the Chief Executive Officer, Africa at Grassroots Business Fund (GBF), where she leads the organization's investment and programmatic operations across the region. Under her leadership, GBF manages investment and enterprise support initiatives that help entrepreneurs access the capital and capacity needed to grow, create jobs, and strengthen local economies.
Previously, Lilian served as Africa Regional Director at GBF, where she led the Africa strategy, deployment, and exits for the African portfolio of a $49 million global mezzanine debt fund, contributing to more than $300 million in economic impact. She is passionate about developing innovative financing solutions that bridge the gap between catalytic and commercial capital and expand access to finance for underserved enterprises, including women-led businesses.
Beyond GBF, Lilian serves as a Non-Executive Director at M-Pesa Tanzania, one of Africa's leading digital financial services platforms, a trustee of Humanity Insured, and a member of the Investment Committee of the €140 million FarmFit Fund. She holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Idaho.
